The minimum order quantity is 100 records for both black and colored vinyl LPs. Gatefold jacket orders also start at 100.
Standard turnaround is 5-7 weeks for vinyl orders without test pressings. Turn times for vinyl orders with test pressings is 8-10 weeks. Turn times for vinyl orders are estimates and not guaranteed. We recommend that you do not schedule release events until you have received your vinyl order. No rush orders available for vinyl products. UPS Ground shipping times depend on your location.
A test pressing is a small batch (usually 5 LPs) of records made before the full run, giving you a chance to check the product before the production run. Included free with orders of 300+, or available for $275 on smaller orders.
We accept high-quality lossless WAV or AIFF files, ideally at 24-bit depth and the original session's sample rate (44.1kHz, 48kHz, 88.2kHz, 96kHz, or higher). Please do not send MP3, AAC, or other compressed formats for mastering.
Our standard pressings use 140g vinyl, which delivers excellent sound and is the industry standard. 180g is a heavier option that is more resistant to warping and available at an additional charge. There is no difference in sound between the two options.
Download our vinyl design templates and set up your artwork in CMYK or Greyscale at 300 dpi or higher. Include "bleed" and keep text and other important elements within the safe zone to ensure that nothing gets trimmed in production. Export as a press-quality PDF (PDF/X-4).
An LP (long play) is a full-length album, typically pressed on a 12-inch disc at 33 RPM, with around 40–45 minutes of audio across both sides. An EP (extended play) is a shorter release, usually 4–6 songs, also commonly pressed on 12-inch or 10-inch vinyl and either 33 or 45 RPM.
For a 12-inch LP at 33 RPM, the sweet spot is around 18–22 minutes per side. You can fit more, but the louder and more dynamic you want the record to sound, the more groove width it requires — which means less total runtime. Our mastering engineer will advise you on the ideal program length for your music to get the best possible sound from the medium.
Yes — colored vinyl is available on orders of 100 or more. We offer a wide range of solid colors, as well as splatter, marble, and other special effects. Colored vinyl is a great way to make your release more collectible and visually distinctive. Please get in touch to discuss options and availability.
Ideally, yes. Vinyl has different technical requirements than digital formats — excessive low-frequency energy, harsh high-frequency content, and very wide stereo fields can all cause problems on a record. Our in-house mastering engineer specializes in vinyl mastering and will optimize your audio for the medium, ensuring the best possible playback on any turntable. This is especially important if your existing master was produced for streaming or CD.
We offer single and double LP jackets, gatefold jackets, and printed inner sleeves. Gatefolds open like a book and give you significantly more space for artwork and photography — a popular choice for a debut album or special edition release. All jackets are printed in full color. We also offer poly-lined inner sleeves to protect the record surface.
Vinyl pressing is a physical manufacturing process with several distinct stages: lacquer cutting, electroplating to create the metal stampers, pressing the records, and printing and assembling the jackets and sleeves. Each stage takes time and cannot be significantly rushed without risking quality. The high demand for vinyl pressing at facilities worldwide also contributes to longer lead times. If you have a release date in mind, we recommend getting your order in as early as possible.
